Overview
Grade 310S (UNS S31008) is used when the application environment involves moist corrodents in a temperature range lower than that which is normally considered"high temperature"service. Beacause of the lower carbon content, 310S does reduce its high temperature strength compared to 310. Like other austenitic grades these have excellent toughness, even down to cryogenic temperatures, although other grades are normally used in this environment.
Meanwhile, ASTM A213 TP310S seamless tubes are made from austenitic stainless steel 25Cr-20Ni, which is higher in chromium and nickel. They have a very high resistance to corrosion and oxidation at elevated temperature. Thus, TP310S seamless tube can be used for the construction of boilers, superheaters, and heat exchangers working at elevated temperatures in moderately oxidizing conditions. The tube is generally furnished in outside diameter of 0.25″~5.00″ and minimum wall thickness of 0.015″~0.500″.
