Overview
Grade 316L, the low carbon version of 316 and is immune from sensitisation (grain boundary carbide precipitation). Thus it is extensively used in heavy gauge welded components (over about 6mm).
ASTM A213 316L stainless steel tube is the most widely used commercial grade of stainless steel supplied into numerous industry sectors which also referred as WNR 1.4404 Seamless Tube. It offers higher strength and better creep resistance at higher temperatures than Alloy 304. 316L Boiler Tubes also possesses excellent mechanical and corrosion properties at sub-zero temperatures.
The tubes has many good features to offer like high tensile strength, rugged construction, good dimensional accuracy, resistivity, durability, and weld-ability. The tensile strength of the 316L seamless tubes is 458MPa, yield strength is 170 MPa, elongation to elasticity is 40MM, the Rockwell B is maximum 95 and Brinell is maximum 217HB.
