Overview
316Ti (UNS S31635) is a titanium stabilised version of 316 molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel. This 316 alloys are more resistant to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion than the conventional chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels such as 304. They also offer higher creep, stress-rupture and tensile strength at elevated temperature.
AISI 316Ti tube is identical to 316L but it is having very good mechanical properties and high-temperature properties. 316Ti tubes are containing titanium in small proportions. Titanium content is nearly 0.5%. The major benefit of these tubing is that it can efficiently handle high temperatures for a longer time without occurring the sensations. In these tubes, the resistance to corrosion is well-enhanced resistance to general corrosion especially against hydrochloric acid, formic acid, sulfuric acid, alkaline chlorides, etc.
The applications wherein the usability of these tubes are extensively seen are pharmaceuticals, specialty chemicals, petrochemicals, chemical industry, offshore oil drilling industry, pulp & paper industry, power generations, heat exchangers, condensers and many more.
