    Mechanical Properties

    The mechanical features of incoloy 800/800HT are paired with their resistance to corrosion properties at the elevated temperatures that makes the Incoloy alloys extremely purposeful for using in the different high temperature and long term oriented operations. These alloys are also significantly used in the variety of corrosive media. The chemical composition limits of Incoloy 800H and 800HT reside within the limits of Incoloy alloy 800. Alloy 800 comprises of large mechanical strength over high temperatures. It is suitable for using up to 1500℉. The vital difference between Incoloy alloy series depends on the difference of their mechanical properties. The difference in the mechanical properties is due to difference in their chemical composition and the different temperature annealing. Generally Incoloy 800 alloy possesses higher mechanical properties at the room temperatures and minimum to high temperature exposures. On the other side the Incoloy 800H and 800HT alloys offer high creep and stress rupture strength at the higher temperature exposures.

    INCOLOY alloy 800H/800HT/800AT is designated as UNS NO8810, UNS NO8811 and Werkstoff Number 1.4876, 1.4958, 1.4959. It is listed in NACE MR0175 for oil and gas service. Nickel-iron-chromium alloys having the same basic composition as INCOLOY alloy 800 but with significantly higher creep-rupture strength. The higher strength results from close control of the carbon, aluminum, and titanium contents in conjunction with a high-temperature anneal. Used in chemical and petrochemical processing, in power plants for super-heater and reheater tubing, in industrial furnaces, and for heattreating equipment.

    Incoloy alloy 800 is a widely used material of construction for equipment that must have high strength and resist carburization,oxidation and other harmful effects of high-temperature exposure. (For high temperature applications requiring optimum rupture and creep properties, Incoloy alloys 800H and 800HT are used). The chromium in the alloy imparts resistance to oxidation and corrosion. The high percentage of nickel maintains an austenitic structure so that the alloy is ductile. the nickel content also contributes general corrosion, resistance to scaling and stress-corrosion cracking.

    Incoloy alloy 800 is used in a variety of applications involving exposure to high temperatures and corrosive environments. It is used for heat-treating equipment such as baskets, trays and fixtures. In chemical and petrochemical processing the alloy is used for heat exchangers and other piping systems in nitric acid media especially where resistance to chloride stress-corrosion cracking is required. In nuclear power plants, it is used for steam-generator tubing. The alloy is often used in home appliances for sheathing of electric heating elements. In the production of paper pulp, digester liquid heaters are often made of alloy 800. In petroleum processing , the alloy is used for heat exchangers that air-cool the process stream.
    Incoloy 800 is a nickel-chromium alloy with good strength and excellent resistance to oxidation and carburization. The alloy maintains stable structure during exposure to high temperature, therefore incoloy 800 has good corrosion resistance to many acidic environments.
